Today I am nostalgic of my California trip on the road.
That journey was the best I had, I had been three weeks in California ( including Las Vegas, Nevada). The picture above was shot when we were going from Fresno to Sequoia National Park. It’s amazing how California has a lot of different types of landscape: beaches, forests, desert, countries, great urban environments, little towns. I love it!
I particularly like this shot cause there’s a contrast between the green colour of the grass and the yellow colour of desert mountain. A sort of illusory contrast between life and death, between man and nature. All is unified by the grey of the road, a means through which man has overcome nature.
This article’s title is taken from Springsteen’s song Land of Hope and Dreams. I hope one day to come back to California 🙂
“Grab your ticket and your suitcase
Thunder’s rolling down the tracks
Don’t know where you’re goin’
Sky is turnin’ black / But you know you won’t be back
Well darlin’ if you’re weary
Lay your head upon my chest
We’ll take what we can carry
And we’ll leave behind the rest
Big Wheels rolling through fields
Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams… “
